President Barack Obama became the first president in history to hold an online town hall meeting simultaneously with a "live audience" meeting in the East Room of the White House earlier this week. Internet users submitted more than 104,000 questions online at whitehouse.gov before the meeting. President Obama answered questions on such topics as unemployment, healthcare, education, veterans issues, the economy, the housing market, and of course balancing the U.S. budget. Obama joked at one point about the most popular question from his online audience — whether he favored legalizing marijuana and could that turn around the economy. "I don't know what this says about the online audience," he said with a smile, adding that he opposed legalizing the illicit drug.
